Overview
Revisions are an essential part of every Custom Service on The Ghost Production.
They allow you to request adjustments to your demo or delivery before approving the final version — ensuring the result perfectly matches your creative vision.
This guide explains how to request revisions correctly, how many you can receive for free, and how the process works inside your order dashboard.
1. What Are Revisions?
A revision is a formal request to make specific changes to your project before final approval.
Revisions can include creative or technical adjustments such as:
- Tweaking the mix or balance of instruments
- Changing arrangement details or transitions
- Adjusting volume, EQ, or effects
- Editing vocal timing, tuning, or intensity
- Minor melodic or rhythmic edits
Revisions are meant for refinements, not for full creative direction changes.
2. How to Request a Revision
When your producer uploads a demo or delivery, you’ll receive an email notification.
To request changes:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to Orders → Custom Services.
- Open the order you want to review.
- Listen to the uploaded demo or delivery.
- Click Request Revision to open the Revision Form.
- Describe your requested changes clearly and submit the form.
Your revision request is automatically logged in the system, and the order status will update to Revisions Requested.
The producer will review your notes and upload a revised version for approval.
If you are fully satisfied, click Approve instead — this will mark the order as ready for final delivery and payment.
3. Free and Paid Revisions
Each producer sets a specific number of free revisions for their custom services.
You can find this information on the service page before placing your order.
Once you exceed the number of free revisions, you can still request paid revisions (extra revisions) for an additional cost set by the producer.
These optional paid revisions ensure flexibility without limiting communication or creativity.
Example:
- A producer offers 3 free revisions → After using all 3, you can still request additional ones by selecting a paid revision add-on.
4. What Revisions Do Not Include
Revisions are limited to the agreed creative direction from your initial order brief.
They do not cover:
- Changing the genre or style after work has started
- Replacing main vocals or instruments entirely
- Rebuilding the arrangement or composing a new track
- Requests outside the original concept or service scope
If you want major changes beyond the original order, this must be placed as a new custom service order.
5. Revision Turnaround Time
Producers usually deliver revisions within 1–3 business days, depending on complexity and workload.
The new demo or version will appear automatically in your order dashboard once uploaded.
You’ll also receive an email notification when it’s ready.
6. Communication and Revision Rules
All revision requests must be made through the dedicated Revision Form, not through the chat.
This ensures that:
- Your feedback is structured and linked to each revision version.
- The platform can track and log every request for transparency.
- Both you and the producer have a clear revision history.
Chat can still be used for small updates or follow-ups, but only the Revision Form officially triggers a revision.
7. Approving the Final Version
Once you are satisfied with the last revision:
- Click Approve in your order dashboard.
- The producer will then upload your final files.
- You’ll make the remaining 70 % payment to complete your order.
After final delivery, you’ll receive your:
- Mastered and unmastered versions (WAV + MP3)
- Stems and MIDI (if applicable)
- Project file (if included)
- Invoice
8. Notes
- The number of free revisions is determined by the producer.
- After exceeding free revisions, paid revision add-ons are available.
- Revision requests must be submitted through the Revision Form, not chat.
- The 30 % deposit remains non-refundable during the revision process.
- Ownership transfers only after the final payment and delivery.
