Can the BPM change within a song?
In electronic music, rarely — DAW grids keep tempo locked. Live drummers drift a few BPM naturally, and some genres use deliberate tempo switches; the analyzer reports the dominant tempo in those cases.
Why do I sometimes get double or half the BPM I expect?
Tempo is partly perception: a 140 BPM track with a half-time beat legitimately reads as 70. Convention decides — check which value matches how the genre is normally counted.
When should I use the tapper instead of the analyzer?
The analyzer needs an audio file; the tapper works on anything you can hear — a set, the radio, a track playing in a store. Tap 16 beats and you’ll be within a BPM of the true tempo.
