What to Do If You’re Not Satisfied with the Demo (Custom Services)

Overview

After placing a custom order on The Ghost Production, your producer will send you a demo version of your project once the first stage of production is complete.
If the demo doesn’t meet your expectations and you’re not satisfied, don’t worry — you can request changes directly through the built-in revision system.
This article explains how to do that properly and what options you have if the result still isn’t right.

1. Review the Demo Carefully

When the producer uploads a demo, you’ll receive an email notification.
To listen and review it:

  1. Log in to your account at theghostproduction.com.
  2. Go to My Account → Services Orders → Select Order.
  3. Play the demo file directly from your order page.

Take time to review the demo carefully and make specific notes about what you like and what you’d like changed.

2. How to Request Revisions

If you’re not satisfied with the demo:

  1. Click the “Request Revision” button under the demo preview.
  2. Fill out the Revision Form, clearly describing what you’d like changed.
  3. Submit the form to send your request directly to the producer.

Once submitted, your order status will change to Revisions Requested, and the producer will begin working on your updated version.

You can use this feature as many times as your order allows free revisions (defined by the producer’s service offer).
After those are used, you can still request additional paid revisions if needed.

3. Tips for Effective Feedback

Clear and specific feedback helps your producer understand exactly what you want.
When describing changes, try to mention:

  • Which parts you want adjusted (e.g., “make the drop bigger,” “lower the vocal reverb,” “change the kick”).
  • Reference timestamps from the demo.
  • Optional reference tracks or examples that better match your vision.

Avoid general comments like “make it sound better” — detailed feedback always leads to faster, more accurate revisions.

4. How Many Revisions You Get

Each producer sets their own revision limit, which is visible on the service page before you order.
Once you’ve reached that number of free revisions, you can request extra paid revisions directly within the order.

You’ll always be notified how many free revisions remain before submission.

5. If You Still Don’t Like the Result

If, after several revisions, the result still doesn’t meet your expectations:

  • Try communicating clearly with the producer to see if the issue can be solved with one final change.
  • If the producer stops responding or you believe the work doesn’t match your original brief, you can request assistance from support.

To do that:

Select Custom Services → Quality Issue and include your order number and a short explanation.

Our team will review the order details, messages, and demo versions to determine whether further revisions or a refund review are possible.

6. Important Rules

  • All revision requests must be submitted through the Revision Form, not through chat.
  • Revision feedback should align with your original creative brief.
  • The 30 % deposit remains non-refundable during the revision stage.
  • Producers are not required to redo a track entirely or change the style after work has started.
  • Demos are protected under the producer’s temporary ownership until final payment.

7. Approving the Final Version

Once you’re happy with the demo and want to finalize the project:

  1. Click “Approve” on your order page.
  2. Pay the remaining 70 % balance to unlock your final delivery.
  3. Download your completed track and all included files under My Account → Services Orders.

After approval, your project is considered complete, and ownership transfers fully to you.
