Free Music Production Tools for Producers & DJs
Whether you're a music producer, DJ, songwriter or audio engineer, having the right tools can save you hours of work. Our free browser-based music tools are built with modern Web Audio API technology, which means everything runs directly in your browser — no apps to download, no accounts to create, and no files ever uploaded to a server. The only exceptions are our server-powered tools (Copyright Checker and AI Music Detector) which send your audio to specialist APIs for analysis.
Find BPM and Key in Seconds
Our BPM and Key Finder analyses the tempo and musical key of any audio file instantly. Upload an MP3, WAV, FLAC or any common audio format, and within moments you'll see the BPM, the musical key in standard notation, whether it's major or minor, and the Camelot wheel code used in harmonic mixing. This is invaluable for music producers who need to match loops, samples and stems, and for DJs who want to transition smoothly between tracks.
Find the BPM of Any Song by Name
Don't have the audio file handy? The Song BPM Finder lets you search by artist and song title to instantly look up the tempo of any commercially released track. Whether you're preparing a DJ set, syncing a playlist to a workout pace, or just curious about a track's rhythm, you'll get an accurate BPM reading without needing to upload anything.
Identify the Musical Key of Any Song
The Song Key Finder lets you search for any song by name and instantly see its musical key, mode (major or minor) and Camelot wheel code. Perfect for producers who want to write melodies, harmonies or chord progressions that complement a reference track, and for DJs who need to plan harmonically compatible transitions without uploading audio files.
Plan Better DJ Sets with Harmonic Mixing
The DJ Set Planner takes harmonic mixing to the next level. Upload your entire track library in bulk, let the tool detect BPM and key for every song automatically, then generate an optimally ordered set list based on the Camelot Wheel system. Compatible transitions are highlighted so you always know which tracks flow naturally into each other. Export your finished set list as a CSV or PDF for easy reference in the booth.
Keep Perfect Time with BPM Tapper and Metronome
If you need to tap out the tempo of a track by ear, the BPM Tapper lets you tap the button or press Space in time with the music to calculate a running BPM average. For practice sessions and recording, the precision Online Metronome uses the Web Audio API's sample-accurate clock for rock-solid timing that won't drift, no matter how long your session runs.
Protect Your Music and Check for Copyright
Before releasing a track, use the Music Copyright Checker to check whether your audio matches any commercially released song using ACRCloud audio fingerprinting. This can save you from unexpected takedowns on YouTube, Spotify or social media. For protecting your own unreleased stems and productions, the Audio Watermark Tool lets you add a repeating audio watermark — your own voice ID, a custom jingle or an AI-generated tag — to any track, so you can safely share previews without giving away the full clean file.
Detect AI-Generated Music Instantly
With AI music generators like Suno, Udio and ElevenLabs flooding streaming platforms, knowing whether a track is human-made or AI-generated has become essential. Our AI Music Detector powered by ACRCloud analyses your uploaded audio and returns an AI probability score, the specific AI engine detected (Suno, Udio, Mureka, Riffusion, Seed Music, MiniMax and more), and a component breakdown covering the full track, vocals and accompaniment separately. Whether you're a music distributor verifying catalogue authenticity, a producer protecting your style, or a label ensuring your releases are 100% human-made, this tool gives you a reliable, data-driven answer in seconds. If you need tracks that pass every AI detection check, browse our exclusive ghost-produced tracks — composed, performed and produced entirely by human professionals.
Calculate Your Spotify Royalties — With Real Artist Data
Our Spotify Royalty Calculator does something no other free calculator does: search your Spotify artist profile by name and it automatically pulls your real monthly listener count via Songstats, then calculates your estimated earnings on the spot — no manual data entry required. Adjust the per-stream rate (the 2026 industry average is $0.003–$0.005), set your ownership share (100% for independent artists, lower if a label takes a cut) to see a personalised gross and net result in your own currency. The calculator supports 21 currencies with daily-updated exchange rates, and shows you exactly how many streams you need to hit $1,000 net — a practical benchmark for release planning and promotion spend.
Compare Earnings Across All Streaming Platforms
Different platforms pay very different royalties per stream. Our Streaming Revenue Calculator covers all nine major platforms — Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora, SoundCloud and iHeartRadio — in a single side-by-side comparison. Enter your stream count for each platform and the calculator shows gross royalties, net earnings based on your ownership share, and an annual projection for each service plus a combined total. Tidal and Apple Music pay the highest per-stream rates ($0.008–$0.013) while ad-supported platforms like Pandora pay significantly less — understanding this breakdown is essential for prioritising where to focus your promotional efforts.

Are all these tools completely free?
Yes — every tool is 100% free with no subscription, no hidden charges and no account required. The BPM & Key Finder, Song BPM Finder, Song Key Finder, DJ Set Planner, BPM Tapper, Online Metronome, Audio Watermark Tool, Music Copyright Checker, AI Music Detector, Spotify Royalty Calculator and Streaming Revenue Calculator are all permanently free to use.
What is the difference between the BPM & Key Finder, Song BPM Finder and Song Key Finder?
The BPM & Key Finder analyses an audio file you upload — it detects the tempo and musical key of your own tracks, stems or samples entirely in your browser. The Song BPM Finder and Song Key Finder work differently: you search by artist and song title to look up the BPM or key of any commercially released track without uploading anything. Use the upload tool for your own productions and unreleased audio; use the search tools to quickly look up released songs by name.
How accurate is the BPM detection?
The BPM & Key Finder uses a time-domain autocorrelation algorithm accurate to within ±1 BPM on most modern music with a consistent beat — electronic, hip-hop, pop, rock and dance music all perform well. For tracks with frequent tempo changes the result represents the dominant tempo. The Song BPM Finder pulls BPM data from a curated database of commercially released tracks, so accuracy depends on the quality of the underlying data for that specific song.
What is the Camelot Wheel and which tools use it?
The Camelot Wheel assigns each musical key a short code (e.g. 8A = A minor, 8B = C major). Tracks with the same number, or adjacent numbers, are harmonically compatible — mixing between them sounds smooth rather than clashing. Three tools display Camelot codes: the BPM & Key Finder (from your uploaded audio), the Song Key Finder (from a name search), and the DJ Set Planner, which uses Camelot codes to automatically sort your whole library into an optimally mixed set order.
What is the DJ Set Planner and how does it work?
The DJ Set Planner lets you upload your entire track library in bulk. It detects the BPM and key of every file automatically, then generates an optimally ordered set list using the Camelot Wheel so that every track-to-track transition is harmonically compatible. You can reorder tracks manually, filter by BPM range or key, and export the finished set list as a CSV or PDF for use in the booth. No audio is ever uploaded to a server — all analysis happens in your browser.
What is the difference between the BPM Tapper and the Online Metronome?
The BPM Tapper is for measuring tempo — tap the button (or press Space) in time with any track playing and it calculates a running BPM average from your taps. It's useful when you don't have the audio file and want to quickly check the tempo by ear. The Online Metronome is for keeping time — set your target BPM, start it, and it clicks at a steady, sample-accurate rate using the Web Audio API. Use the Tapper to discover a tempo and the Metronome to practise or record at it.
How does the Audio Watermark Tool work?
The Audio Watermark Tool mixes a short repeating audio tag — a voice ID, a jingle, or an AI-generated phrase — into any track at an interval you choose (e.g. every 30 seconds). You can upload your own watermark file, record one via your microphone, or generate an AI voice ID instantly in your browser. Set the watermark volume, fade in/out, output format (WAV or MP3 up to 320 kbps) and crop range, then download the protected preview file. Everything runs entirely in your browser — no files are sent to any server. It's ideal for sharing preview versions of unreleased tracks with potential buyers without giving away the full clean file.
What does the Music Copyright Checker do?
The Music Copyright Checker uses ACRCloud audio fingerprinting to compare your uploaded track against a database of hundreds of millions of commercially released songs. If your audio matches a known release — even partially — it returns the matched song title, artist and the rights holder. This is useful before releasing a track that samples or interpolates existing material, before uploading to YouTube or TikTok where Content ID systems may flag it, and for verifying that a ghost-produced track you purchased is genuinely original. Only a short audio fingerprint is sent to ACRCloud — not the full file.
Are my audio files uploaded to a server?
Most tools run entirely in your browser with zero server contact: BPM & Key Finder, Song BPM Finder, Song Key Finder, DJ Set Planner, BPM Tapper, Online Metronome, Audio Watermark Tool, Spotify Royalty Calculator and Streaming Revenue Calculator all process data locally. The Music Copyright Checker sends a compact audio fingerprint (not the full file) to ACRCloud for matching. The AI Music Detector uploads your audio to ACRCloud for AI analysis; ACRCloud deletes the file immediately after returning results.
Can the AI Music Detector identify which AI generated a track?
Yes. Powered by ACRCloud, the AI Music Detector returns an overall AI probability score and identifies the specific engine — Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs, Mureka, Riffusion, Seed Music, MiniMax and more. When available it also breaks the result down by component: full track, vocals and accompaniment analysed separately. Useful for distributors verifying catalogue authenticity, labels vetting submissions, and producers protecting their original work.
How does the Spotify Royalty Calculator find my stream data automatically?
Type your artist name into the search box and the calculator queries the Spotify API to find your profile, then uses Songstats — a professional music analytics platform — to retrieve your actual monthly listener count. That figure is used to estimate your monthly streams and instantly calculate gross and net earnings based on your per-stream rate and ownership share. You can override the pre-filled value at any time. No login or account is needed.
What is the Streaming Revenue Calculator and how is it different from the Spotify calculator?
The Streaming Revenue Calculator covers nine platforms in a single side-by-side view: Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora, SoundCloud and iHeartRadio. Enter your monthly stream count for each platform and see gross royalties, net earnings based on your ownership share, and an annual projection for every service plus a combined total. Set Your Share to 100% if you distribute independently, or lower if a label takes a cut. The Spotify Royalty Calculator is more detailed for Spotify specifically — it includes the live artist lookup and a $1,000 stream milestone estimate. Use both together for a complete picture of your streaming income.
What audio formats are supported?
Browser-based tools (BPM & Key Finder, DJ Set Planner, Audio Watermark Tool) support any format your browser can decode — typically MP3, WAV, AIFF, FLAC, AAC/M4A, OGG and WebM. The Music Copyright Checker and AI Music Detector accept MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG and M4A up to 50 MB. For the most consistent results across all tools, MP3 or WAV is recommended.
