Track File Requirements and ZIP Package Structure

Overview

When submitting a track to The Ghost Production, you must upload a complete production package inside a ZIP file.

This ensures that buyers receive everything they need after purchasing the track.

Incomplete packages are one of the most common reasons tracks are rejected during review.

Before submitting your track, make sure your ZIP package includes all required files.

Required Files

Every track submission must include the following files.

Mastered Version

The mastered version is the final release-ready version of the track.

Required formats:

• WAV
• MP3

The mastered version should be properly limited and optimized for streaming or release.

Unmastered Version

The unmastered version allows buyers or labels to apply their own mastering.

Required formats:

• WAV
• MP3

Instrumental Version (If Vocals Are Present)

If the track contains vocals, you must include an instrumental version.

Required formats:

• WAV
• MP3

The instrumental version contains the full track without vocals.

Radio Edit and Extended Version (Recommended)

While not required, we strongly recommend including both a radio edit and an extended version of your track in the mastered files.

Providing both versions improves the buyer experience and makes the track more flexible for different use cases such as DJ sets, streaming platforms, and radio.

Recommended lengths:

Radio Edit: 2–3 minutes
Extended Version: 4–8 minutes

Tracks that include both versions often provide better value for buyers, which can increase the chances of receiving positive reviews and repeat customers, ultimately helping improve your sales.

Stems

Stems are the individual audio elements used to build the track.

All stems must be exported as WAV files.

Examples of stems:

• Kick
• Drums
• Bass
• Leads
• Pads
• FX
• Vocals

Providing clean stems allows buyers to remix, edit, or adjust elements of the track.

MIDI Files

All MIDI files used in the project must be included.

Examples include:

• Chord progressions
• Basslines
• Lead melodies
• Arpeggios

MIDI files allow buyers to easily modify melodies and harmonies.

Lyrics for Exclusive Vocal Tracks

If your track contains exclusive vocals, you must include the full lyrics inside the ZIP package.

Lyrics should be provided as a simple text file (.txt or .pdf) so the buyer can easily access them after purchase.

Including lyrics is important because buyers may need them for:

• Distribution platforms
• Copyright registration
• Lyric submissions on streaming services
• Marketing and promotional use

If the vocals come from a royalty-free sample pack, lyrics are usually not available and therefore do not need to be included.

Project File (Highly Recommended)

Including the original DAW project file is highly recommended because it significantly increases the value of your track for buyers.

Many customers specifically look for tracks that include the full project file, as it allows them to fully customize the track and have complete control over the production.

Tracks that include project files often have a higher chance of selling because buyers can:

• Modify the arrangement
• Replace or tweak sounds
• Adjust mixing and mastering
• Fully adapt the track to their needs

When including a project file, make sure the package contains the complete project environment, including:

• The original DAW project file (for example FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, etc.)
• All samples used in the project
• Presets or patches if possible
• Any additional project-related files required for the project to open correctly

Providing a fully working project ensures the buyer can open the project without missing files and get the full production experience.

Common Submission Mistakes

Tracks are often rejected because the ZIP package is incomplete.

Common mistakes include:

• Missing stems
• Missing MIDI files
• Missing unmastered version
• Missing instrumental version for vocal tracks
• Files exported in wrong format
• Incorrect or broken ZIP files

Before submitting your track, double-check that all required files are included.

Why Complete Packages Are Important

Buyers expect to receive a full production package after purchase.

Providing all files allows buyers to:

• Edit the track
• Adjust elements
• Remix the track
• Study the production

Complete packages improve buyer satisfaction and reduce refund requests.
