Using Samples, Vocals, and AI Content Correctly

Overview

When uploading tracks to The Ghost Production marketplace, producers must ensure that all sounds used in the track are legally allowed for commercial use.

This includes samples, vocals, presets, and other production elements.

Using unauthorized or copyrighted material can lead to rejected submissions, disputes with buyers, or account penalties.

Using Royalty-Free Samples

Producers are allowed to use royalty-free samples from legitimate sample libraries.

These may include:

• Drum samples
• Loops
• Sound effects
• Instrument samples
• Vocal samples from licensed sample packs

Royalty-free samples can be used because they are designed for commercial music production.

Examples include samples from professional sample libraries and platforms that provide commercial licenses.

Using Vocal Sample Packs

Many tracks on the platform include vocals from royalty-free sample packs.

This is allowed, but producers must understand an important detail.

Since these vocals are royalty-free, other producers may use the same vocal in different tracks.

Because of this, buyers may sometimes find similar vocals used in other songs.

This is normal when using royalty-free vocal samples.

Exclusive Vocals

If a track contains exclusive vocals recorded specifically for the track, the producer should clearly specify this during track submission.

Exclusive vocals are typically recorded by:

• A vocalist hired by the producer
• The producer themselves
• A vocalist collaborating on the project

For exclusive vocal tracks, producers should also include the lyrics file inside the ZIP package.

AI Generated Vocals

AI-generated vocals may be used only if they are legally generated and properly licensed.

Producers must ensure that the AI service used allows commercial usage of generated vocals.

AI-generated instrumental music is not allowed on the platform.

Submitting AI-generated music may result in track rejection and account penalties.

Do Not Use Copyrighted Material

Producers must not use copyrighted material that they do not have the rights to distribute.

Examples of prohibited content include:

• Samples taken from released songs
• Vocals extracted from existing music
• Content ripped from YouTube or streaming platforms

Tracks containing unauthorized copyrighted material will be rejected.

Distribution Platform Flags

Sometimes buyers may upload their track to platforms like:

• YouTube
• SoundCloud
• Spotify

These platforms may detect similar sounds or vocals used in other tracks.

This can happen when the same royalty-free sample or vocal is used by multiple producers.

In these situations, the buyer can usually resolve the issue by providing proof that the sample comes from a royalty-free sample pack.

Best Practices for Producers

To avoid issues with buyers or distribution platforms, producers should:

• Use only legitimate royalty-free sample libraries
• Avoid copyrighted material
• Clearly specify vocal types during submission
• Include lyrics for exclusive vocals

Following these guidelines ensures that tracks remain safe for commercial release.
